Affection & Attention

Today, we explore the difference between setting our heart on God and setting our face toward God. While affection for Christ is essential and foundational, scripture consistently calls believers to sustain that affection through intentional attention—fixing our eyes on Jesus daily. Jesus warns that without attention, the cares of the world and deceitfulness of riches will choke even genuine faith, rendering it unfruitful. Lent becomes an invitation to reorient our gaze, remove distractions, and cultivate a deeper hunger for God.
