Your Words Create a World

We live in a world overflowing with words, but James teaches that wisdom is demonstrated not by having more to say, but by becoming quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Listening is one of the greatest gifts we can give another person because it communicates that they are seen, valued, and loved. Our anger and uncontrolled words cannot create the righteous life God desires; that kind of life comes as we humbly receive the implanted Word and allow Jesus to remake us from within. God created a world with his words, and every day our words help create the world the people around us live in.
