No Neutral Ground: Who’s Really Controlling Your Life?
Mar 1, 2026 • Jason Patterson
In Ephesians 5:15–20, Paul urges believers to live carefully and intentionally through three contrasts: not unwise but wise, not foolish but understanding the Lord’s will, and not drunk with wine but filled with the Spirit. To “redeem the time” means to liberate our days from cultural captivity and use them for eternal purposes. Understanding God’s will flows from a renewed mind marked by gratitude rather than foolishness. And being filled with the Spirit requires surrendered dependence—actively yielding ourselves to God’s transforming influence so that our lives are visibly different in a world shaped by lesser influences.
